Remember the black-top on the play ground?
Sun causing burns and blisters
With that sweet-snow/ice cream
Hide and seek at Dawes' playground
My spot was under the dinosaur,
You hid in the bushes.
Now that you're leaving me
I don't know where to go
Will there ever be someone...
Who will eat the food I don't finish?
Will there be someone who will know...
What sweet-snow is, without explanations?
Sitting by you now
Will there be someone new for you
Another angel like you, and just for you?
Or will you have to wait, as I might?
Saying "good bye" is ripping, sawing, and paper cutting me
Remember the beach?
We thought we could dig to China...
We got really deep
Going to the same beach every day
What was it? 4 to 5 feet?
Those days were the ones we could go to bed right after
I still want you to stay
But those eyes black and blood shot, and hardly open
I know you're counting down
Praying for it to be done with fast
So I let go of your hand
Spreading the chill of the words
"Good bye" and "Remember the black-top play ground"
